Buyer Associate (Mandarin Speaking)

The role

This role will be employed under Lamido E-Services Philippines Inc. (under Lazada Group).

Lamido E-Services Philippines Inc. is an e-commerce enabler and accelerator - helping sellers to maximize their e-commerce sales and revenue.

Lamido is part of the Lazada Group, which aims to provide the best and safest marketplace for sellers, merchants and buyers.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the planning, selection, negotiation, replenishment of products to be sold for the store / brand and monitor all merchandise consumption thereafter.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Business Development/Products Sourcing

- Identify potential supplier partners who may supply target assortment

- Sourcing targeted assortment from existing and new suppliers based on the merchandise plan and trends.

- Meet and onboard new suppliers as needed


Pricing and sales management

- Own product P&L, responsible for margin
- Negotiate supply prices with suppliers to get a competitive cost.
- Manage on product pricing to balance sales and margin
- Participate in promotional activities and works with traffic team to develop sales for merchandise.


Inventory Management

- Work with Supply Chain to ensure stock level forecast ensures product availability considering factors like Sale Events, shipment lead times, stock outs.

- Manage timely replenishment confirmations with suppliers to ensure stocks availability.

- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders


Vendor Management

- Meet suppliers and negotiate terms of contract
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
- Contact suppliers in order or schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problem

Key Qualifications:
- A background of merchandising/retail/sourcing in related categories.
- Must be results-driven, shows initiative, quick leaner
- Strong data analysis skills, problem-solving, critical thinking
- Strong communication skills, can hold business review presentations with extenal partners
- Price negotiation experience and capability in certain area, be familiar with industry cost
- Systems skills (Merchandising system, Microsoft applications)
- Fluent in English a must, Chinese speaking is a plus
- Hold a bachelor degree
